Music Time Academy is pleased to announce that Timothy Garry is now currenty on staff as a voice, guitar, bass, and mandolin instructor! Tim has over 20 years of music performance and composition experience. As a guitarist, Tim has studied and performed in a wide variety of styles, concentrating on rock, blues, and jazz in particular. He has studied under many of the best advanced instructors in the area, including Joe Livoti and Alex Skolnik (renowned guitar God and lead guitarist for Bay Area legends Testament). As a vocalist, Tim has sung lead vocals in many musical projects, and was formorly employed as a singing waiter at Max's Opera Cafe for several years. He has studied voice at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, where he received a Citation for Outstanding Musicianship (Solo Vocal) from the International Association of Jazz Educators while performing with the Jazz Choir.

Tim is familiar with private music lessons from the standpoint of both teacher and student, giving him a greater understading of the dynamics of teaching music in this setting. Tim's teaching experience includes not only music, but also Spanish and History. He is happy to work with both male and female voice students, as well as students of any age or skill level.
